Why Christies Care?

Own a rewarding franchise business as part of a national trusted brand

An Award-winning Brand

Christies Care was established in 1987 and since then has been providing top class at-home care. We’ve been awarded ‘Outstanding’ status by the CQC, placing us in the top 3.5% of care agencies and care homes for quality of care.

The Christies Care name is therefore well-known and trusted. Local authorities and individuals alike feel confident awarding us the responsibility for caring for the elderly and disabled.

Meet the management team

Amrit Dhaliwal, Managing Director

Amrit is the Managing Director of Christies Care franchise. After graduating from Keele University with a degree in History & Economics, he realised very quickly he needed to be in business for himself. In quick succession he transformed an Italian deli in Richmond in Surrey into an award winning Italian restaurant. Then a street away developed a successful tea shop, again recognised with a prestigious local business award. He was able to sell both and invest the profits into several property development sites in London.

At the same time, he developed a well-known domiciliary care franchise in Oxford from a standing start to £1 million turnover over 6 years, developing a valued core team of 70 and winning Franchisee of the Year award. This practical experience has given Amrit clear insight on how to help each franchisee develop their business effectively and reach their goals. Christies Care’s mission is to work with each franchisee using Christies Care’s system to develop a client focused and profitable business.

Carla van Wyk, Head of Operations

Carla joined Amrit in 2019 to help head up the Christies Care Franchise Operation. Skilled at building relationships and developing long-term operational strategies, Carla has worked closely with the Management team to meet company objectives and oversees all documentation of all operations to ensure that consistent, efficient workflows are in place, yielding optimal productivity and performance.

Carla has been very involved in the Franchising legislations and Regulations, specifically the core regulatory aspects that relate to a successful CQC Registration. She has ascertained the types of information and documentation that needs to be in place prior to embarking on each Franchisee’s CQC Registration journey. Carla and her operations team work closely with each Franchisee assisting them with their on-boarding process which includes the full CQC process from application through to CQC interview stage and successful registration.

Carla, a true South African at heart, studied psychology at the University of Stellenbosch in Cape Town and moved from South Africa to the UK with her family in 2015. She lives in St Albans with her husband and 2 children. Her strength is the efficiency with which she delivers support to those she serves.
