Community Engagement Officer West Suffolk

The role will be concentrated around West Suffolk but the applicant will be expected to at times travel further across Suffolk and spend time at our Head Office in Saxmundham once a month.

The position

The role of the Community Engagement Officer is to promote Christies Care to an external market, focusing on the local community and identified geographical reach for our care.

The Community Engagement Officer is responsible for raising the Company’s profile for its hourly care and live-in care services, building its network, positive relationships and bringing in business development leads that are converted into sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage a network of potential Carers and potential Clients.
  • Develop sales plans in line with overall business strategy to achieve agreed financial targets.
  • Identify and progress useful marketing opportunities.
  • Identify continual sales improvements (secret shopping, looking at local markets and using training etc.).
  • Develop and manage relationships with Clients, their families, Carers, Local Authorities, Social Workers, Solicitors, other healthcare professionals and any other organisations who may be potential sources of Clients and Carers.
  • Identify and seek permission of Carers or Clients whose stories would be useful for marketing purposes.
  • Seek opportunities to grow word of mouth referral network.
  • Identify and represent Christies Care at events, external meetings, conferences or exhibitions.
  • Promote the Company via networking and other marketing opportunities and encourage all employees to do the same.
  • Plan and improve the conversion rate of potential Clients.
  • Measure success and failure of conversion rates and draw out common denominators.
  • Accurately record sales data.
  • Suggest and implement ways to improve the retention of Carers and Clients.
  • Propose new opportunities to increase the Company’s income streams.
  • Contribute to induction and update talks as and when required.

  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Active and empathetic listening skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Flexible attitude.
  • Confident, with the ability to present to different types of audiences.
  • Confident to network in person and via video call.
  • Good understanding of marketing principles, with experience of using a range of marketing and communication approaches, including managing digital media platforms/campaigns.
  • Target driven.
