Sams Wellbeing Hub & Cafe – Lowestoft

Sam’s Wellbeing Hub & Café is ready to welcome everyone, including your furry friends too (well-behaved & assistant dogs).

They’ve created a warm, relaxing space that’s perfect for everyone to enjoy and escape to.

Whether you’re stopping by to explore their delicious food and drink menu, just looking for a cozy spot to unwind, or attending on of their many events,  they’re open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Pear Tree Centre – East Suffolk and Norfolk

The Pear Tree Centre is a warm and welcoming one-stop-shop which offers support, information, counselling and benefits advice to anyone who has been diagnosed with a life-changing illness.

The centre is open from 10am to 4pm on Monday to Friday.

Anyone with a life-changing condition, as well as their families and carers, is welcome to drop in and use the services on offer, which include:

  • information and support to help understand diagnosis
  • counselling
  • financial and benefits advice
  • bereavement support
  • children and family support services
  • headscarf tying and “feel good” support
  • complementary treatments such as Reiki, massage and reflexology
  • signposting to other agencies

The centre is open to anyone living in north-east Suffolk and south Norfolk, serving people living in the rural towns and villages around Bungay, Beccles, Kessingland, Southwold, Leiston, Saxmundham, Framlingham, Stradbroke, Fressingfield and Harleston.

Mind – Suffolk

Suffolk Mind is an independent mental health charity dedicated to making Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health.

Suffolk Mind offers a wide range of support services for all ages, including counselling, group sessions, and resources tailored for young people, and adults.

The charity operates across Suffolk, with locations in Felixstowe, Saxmundham, and Bury St Edmunds, with services accessible via self-referral.

Mind – Norfolk and Waveney

Norfolk and Waveney Mind is a mental health charity that believes no one should have to face a mental health problem alone.

Mind work to reduce the stigma associated with mental health, support people in their recovery, and champion better services for all.

Mind can help you find the right support and resources to help you with any mental health challenges you may be facing.

They have a fantastic team to speak to as well as a directory full of services, information and resources, as well as Community Support Groups and activities you can join.

DAS Disability Advice Service – East Suffolk

DAS (Disability Advice Service) is a friendly local charity that advises children and adults with disability-related issues, as well as family members and carers.

DAS provides a full and comprehensive telephone and email advice service and also offers in-person appointments for clients who need them in the office.

Grandma’s Kitchen – Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Beccles & Southwold.

Grandma’s Kitchen specialises in providing home-cooked traditional food to everybody, including the elderly and housebound. Their delicious menu offers a range of meals to choose from, and all meals are delivered hot to your door and served on a plate!

Lofty Heights – Suffolk

Lofty Heights is a not-for-profit social enterprise supporting vulnerable people in Suffolk to live safely in their homes by offering decluttering, homeward bound and house clearance services.

Lofty Heights prides itself on never shying away from what can seem like an overwhelming situation and always acting with dignity, respect, and a little humour!

Suffolk Sight

Suffolk Sight is the sight-loss charity for Suffolk.

Their team offers support, advice, and guidance based on your individual sight loss needs. Membership of Suffolk Sight is free and gives you access to all of the services we provide.

Services for members include:

  • A dedicated community worker
  • Befriending
  • Computer and technology support
  • Low vision assessments
  • Advice on and access to aids and equipment
  • Newsletters
  • Social clubs and support groups
  • Help with benefits, concessions and grants

Suffolk Sight has regular drop in sessions where you are welcome to come along and chat to their local Community Worker, for support and advice regarding sight loss.

Mendlesham Bowls Club – Stowmarket District

Located in the heart of Mendlesham Village, Suffolk. Mendlesham Bowls Club is a small freindly club of 30-40 members of all abilities.

New members are always welcome!

There is no pressure to play in league matches; however, there are plenty of opportunities to join the club competitions, which are typically played on either a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. These are fun and entertaining for any level of player, and the bar is open for all home events.
