Training, Support and Development
Our carers are vital to our success. Join us for a rewarding career and ongoing training

Our Induction Training
We are a family-run company with over thirty years’ experience in providing care to enable people to live independently at home. If there is one thing we know, it’s that a good carer can make a huge difference by living with or visiting their client regularly to provide, comfort, support, care and companionship.
Becoming a care provider is a very rewarding career for those people who possess the key attributes to be a good carer and it is very rewarding for us to be part of that journey, meeting, training and developing our carers and watching the strong relationships they form with our clients.
Our carers are vital to our success and good training is at the heart of what we do and why it works. Christies Care has received an Outstanding rating from the CQC for the second time for the quality of our live-in care. This standard is only achieved by 4% of the UK’s care organisations so you can be confident that our award-winning training produces some of the best carers in the country.

Award-winning training
Your blended training programme
Our induction training is unique in the industry and is what makes us stand out from other care providers in the UK. We make sure you are fully trained with the knowledge and practical skills to enable you to provide live-in care with confidence to support our clients at home.
Our live-in care training team are accredited with the Continuing Professional Development Service (CPD) and we invest over £250,000 per year in our training programme.
Our 10-day induction programme consists of 5 days virtual training via Zoom followed by 5 days practical in-house training at our Runnel House headquarters, a purpose-built practical training-centre in the East Suffolk market town of Saxmundham.
We offer free accommodation during your practical training which gives you the opportunity to focus solely on your training and to meet members of our head office team and other carers who will be joining you on your journey as a Christies Carer. Many of our carers become firm friends during their stay and look forward to meeting up again when they return for their annual training refresher course.
Whether you are completely new to care or have some prior experience, your time on the programme will ensure you learn everything you need to know in accordance with Christies Care’s policies and fully regulated service.
“I became a carer because I wanted to be directly involved with the promotion of independence for others, supporting clients to achieve their goals. With the training and constant support I have received from Christies I’m able to do this every day!”
Training doesn’t stop at induction. We offer in-depth condition-specific training courses to enable carers to support clients with a wide range of care needs.
Additionally, all Christies live-in carers are required to complete and pass a 2-day update course each year to continue working to their full capacity. Throughout the year, you will receive advice and guidance from the training team and our dedicated carer support team who are on hand whenever you need help. Our trainers are qualified to give advice on most aspects of care and know who else to recommend if you need further help.
Our hourly care assistants are also required to complete induction training which is managed and assessed by local branches of Christies Care. We offer further development training for hourly carers through e-learning or face to face training in specialist conditions to help with career progression or to gain extra knowledge in their caring role.
If you have the right attributes to become a Christies Carer, we can provide you with all the training you need to join our team of outstanding carers and make a positive impact on the lives of your clients and their loved ones.

Christies Care’s Induction and Update training have both been accredited by the CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Standards Office. This means that when we say our training is industry-leading, independent experts have verified this statement. And the independent experts audit us, so our standards have to be kept high.
